Provider Sources

Provider sources are Confluence and Notion pages, and Sentry projects, that you add to boards from a connected account. Once you connect, ProvenMap can also read your pages and your Jira issues in chat on demand.

We fetch a document each time someone reads it, so a read is always current, and no document is copied into ProvenMap on a schedule. Sentry is the exception: we read its issues every hour to file insights.

Connect your account

Open Settings → Connectors and click Connect on Confluence, Notion or Jira. You approve access on the provider's own consent screen and land back on Connectors.

Ask about a document in chat

You don't have to add a page first. Paste a link or name the page in Chat:

ProvenMap searches your connected accounts, reads the page, and asks what you want from it: a board, a decision board, or work items. When a page should stay with a board, it offers to add it as a reference source.

Add pages as sources

To keep a page with a board yourself, open the board hub and choose Bindings → Add → Create New → Browse Providers. Pick your provider, then the pages you want.

What each provider brings

Browsing and bulk-adding

The browser follows the provider's structure. A Confluence space opens at its homepage, with the pages under it, and a Sentry organization at its projects. Notion opens at the pages and databases you shared with ProvenMap; open a database to pick from its entries, or search for a page deeper down.

A page that's already in the catalog is skipped, and the dialog tells you how many were.

Governing or reference for a provider

A provider's pages govern a board when, in chat, you ask ProvenMap to build or refresh the board from them; otherwise they're a reference, context that doesn't change the board. Sources Overview has the governing-source limits.

Who can read a page you added

A page you add to a board stays in its bindings for everyone, and each read uses the reader's own connection, so nobody sees more than the provider shows them. A teammate can read the page once they connect their own account and the provider gives them access to it.

When your connection lapses

When a provider revokes or expires your access, reads of its pages fail for you until you reconnect; existing sources and bindings stay in place. The browser shows Reconnect to browse with a Go to Connectors button instead of the pages, and Settings → Connectors shows Connect on that provider again.

Sentry is the organization's connection, so when its key stops working the browser asks you to have an org admin reconnect it.
